together PANGEA Reveals NSFW "Offer" Video

together PANGEA - Offer

together PANGEA is debuting their NSFW video for "Offer" off their new album Badillac, out now onHarvest Records. "Offer" premiered via Noisey and provides a glimpse into the life of the band, seeing the guys, as Noisey noted, "get regrettable stick and poke tattoos, get pulled over by the cops, and get women to flash their sweet titties," as well as an intra-band make-out session.

together PANGEA is receiving much early praise for Badillac, with MTV News listing the album as one of the ten "Most Anticipated Indie Albums of 2014," while Stereogum declared "gear up for one of 2014's wildest records." VICE Magazine awarded Badillac with "Album Cover of the Month," and lauded the record, exclaiming "finally, a garage band with some fucking balls. Let 'em fly, motherfuckers." MTV Hive summed up the band aptly, saying "together PANGEA is just one fucking fun band." Referring to the 7-inch that preceded BadillacPitchfork said "Snakedog" is "an absolute shredder worthy of its awesomely ridiculous title." Additionally, Badillac recently hit #2 on CMJ Radio 200 Adds chart and has been getting spins from KROQ, KEGR, KCMP and more. Badillacis now available on iTunes and Amazon.

This winter, together PANGEA will head out on a headlining tour in support of Badillac. The tour, which features Mozes and the Firstborn as support, begins on February 1st at Last Exit in Tempe and wraps up on March 5th at Bottom of the Hill in San Francisco. Full tour dates are below.

together PANGEA do rock 'n' roll as it was meant to be - raw, unpredictable, and probably dangerous, but also blazing with intelligence, emotion, and edgy experimentation. The Los Angeles-based trio made their bones as purveyors of post-millennial punk, but with their third full-length release - and Harvest Records debut - Badillac, they pay their debt to the supersonic 90s rock that first inspired them. The band has not sacrificed a spurt of precious energy, instead integrating nuance and dynamic momentum to songs like "No Way Out" and the undeniably badass title track. The volcanic riffs and massive melodies are matched by an equally provocative lyrical stance, with songs like "Sick Shit" and the album-closing "Where The Night Ends" casting an acerbic eye over the wreckage of the party they helped start - it's 3am and the drunken fun has given way to sexual panic, anxiety and self-doubt. Slightly stoned but by no means slack, Badillac reveals together PANGEA to be both confident and surprisingly committed, their audacious ambition already impossible to contain.

Nowness premieres film for Baby Alpaca "Sea of Dreams"

Strictly Sexual EP includes remixes by Druzzi from The Rapture, Turbotito, WYNN, Alex Suarez & Illyse Singer, Shaun J. Wright & Alinka and TheArtSnobs

Live show: 3/5 - New York @ Rockwood Music Hall

+ more dates to be announced

After releasing their critically acclaimed self-titled debut EP in June, Baby Alpaca has spent time in Los Angeles (opening for Best Coast) and recorded and played in Seattle, Portland, Chris' hometown Cincinnati and their home in New York for the CMJ Festival. The band is working on a full-length album, but before that they'll release the Strictly Sexual EP on March 2nd via Atlas Chair. The EP consists of remixes by Shaun J. Wright & Alinka, Druzzi from The Rapture, Alex Suarez & Illyse / aka asis, Turbotito, TheArtSnobs and WYNN from Twin Shadow and showcases a wide emotional landscape around the gorgeous original song structures.

Today, NOWNESS has premiered the Chris Kittrell directed music video for "Sea of Dreams" (Turbotito Remix) which you can see HERE.
Last year, Vice's NOISEY premiered the official "Wild Child" music video HERE (Vimeo staff pick HERE and YouTube HERE) directed by Brian Leckrone and Adrian Stucker in the outskirts of Palm Springs in between the Coachella weekends.  You can hear two brand new tracks "Island of Love" and "When I See You Again" in their recent Daytrotter session HERE
When trying to identify the music made by NYC band Baby Alpaca, it’s perhaps easier to try and figure out what the music is NOT. Judging by the music on the band’s first proper EP, it’s easy to say that this is definitely not your standard indie rock fare: an autoharp is involved, as well as both live and programmed beats and a smattering of guitars. The music eschews any musical tropes typically assigned to wispy bedroom electronica, beardy folk music, or the new wave of alternative R&B, but it could perhaps exist as a distant cousin to all of those things. Buoyed aloft by the winsome vocals of front man Chris Kittrell and shaped by the guitar styling of Zach McMillan, Baby Alpaca make music that is both romantic, vaguely tropical, and sufficiently futuristic—music that seems born of a million dramatic road trips that might provide a suitable soundtrack for a million more.
The four songs on the Baby Alpaca EP make for a striking, remarkably blissed-out statement of intent. The EP’s first single, “Sea of Dreams” (whose Dada-esque video premiered earlier this year via NPR.org) is as fitting an introduction as any band could hope to have: all echo-chamber vocals that seem to be haunted by reverby guitar lines and gently-played piano notes that drift through the song like ghosts. Tracks like “Wild Child” and “On The Roam” evoke a palpable sense of modern restlessness, something that permeates all of Baby Alpaca’s music. It’s a feeling that Kittrell attributes to his own meandering youth—a time spent experimenting, studying, travelling, and trying to locate his own creative voice.
“A lot of this music is about running way,” explains Kittrell, “I don’t mean that in a escapist kind of way, but more in terms of exploration. So much of my life has been about running away from tradition and traditional ways of thinking, which seeps into the music we make together. It’s about discovery. It’s not so much about running away from something bad, but rather running towards something really beautiful.”
Baby Alpaca continues to turn heads with their sublime use of sound and vision, both in a live setting and via the creation of new songs and video productions.

Dum Dum Girls Too True, featuring the singles “Lost Boys And Girls Club,” “Rimbaud Eyes” and “Are You Okay?,”  was produced by Richard Gottehrer (Blondie, The Go-Go’s, Richard Hell), Sune Rose Wagner (The Raveonettes) and engineered by Alonzo Vargas at East West Studios in Los Angeles and The Coven in New York City.
What People Are Saying About Dum Dum Girls Too True:
Dum Dum Girls continue to explore a sonic and formal intersection of the early 1960s — girl groups, surf-rock, garage-rock — and the post-punk 1980s of the Jesus and Mary Chain and My Bloody Valentine. A few chords, a clear melody and succinct verse-chorus-bridge structures are filled with darkly allusive lyrics and floated amid gauzy, sweeping guitar effects. It’s a roomy concept, encompassing spaghetti western guitar touches in “Cult of Love,” new wave momentum in “Little Minx,” stately folk-rock in “Under These Hands,” a weighty undertow in “Lost Boys and Girls Club” and a celestial serenity in “Trouble Is My Name.” - [Critics Choice]  New York Times
“Penny's songs are no less quotable for their simplicity, whether she's name-checking 19th-century poet Arthur Rimbaud ("Rimbaud Eyes"), fitting the album's title into the chorus of "Too True to Be Good" or dispensing a perfect goth-pop mission statement in "Evil Blooms": "Why be good? Be beautiful and sad." On Too True, Penny and Dum Dum Girls need barely 30 minutes to prove that a band can be all three at once.” [First Listen] - NPR Music

“.. This album is the perfect-pop balance of cliché and rawness, with mythic ambition and songs that make you a three-minute hero.” [4 / 5 Stars] - MOJO

“Sleek and sophisticated, this third full-length careens from muscular blasts of ’80s guitar rock (“In the Wake of You”) to spectral ballads (“Are You Okay?”). Penny writes hits even if they never become that. Songs like “Too True to Be Good” and “Rimbaud Eyes” are meant to be blared from car radios with the windows down; they’re perfect. - Boston Globe
“Songs like "Rimbaud Eyes" and "Evil Blooms" more than live up to their fashion-goth titles. But Penny is best opening up her sound on big, searching ballads like "Lost Boys and Girls Club," where sad Madonna hangs with the Jesus and Mary Chain, or the Chrissie Hynde-worthy weeper "Are You Okay?" where Penny wanders in a "lavender haze" ("I'm reckless at night/I'm sorry for days"), wearing boozy misery like a black-leather security blanket.” [3.5/5 Stars] - Rolling Stone
Too True is a bold album, with Dee Dee backed by huge swelling guitars on a series of resoundingly anthemic and unashamedly 80s sounding tracks.” [8 / 10] - Uncut

Watch TOY's new video for It's Been So Long

Description: TOY-logo

Dir. Douglas Hart

Fresh off their debut North American tour TOY unfurl the new video for It's Been So Long, taken from their second album Join The Dots released early this year on Heavenly Recordings and directed by Jesus And Mary Chain's Douglas Hart.

"The video for TOY's It's Been So Long features calibration charts used for everything from testing focus on microscopes and optical movie projectors to the calibration of cathode rays and the accuracy of the US Army Air Force's bomb and gun sights. The video also includes colour reference charts which instruct technicians as to the true nature of black, white and the three primary colours which combine and overlap within optical devices to create every imaginable colour and shade. Often these charts include strange symbols mapped out in mysterious lines, spirals, and solid shapes, some of which look like they belong on the pages of a New Orleans Voodoo curse, or on an Op Art canvas." - Douglas Hart
TOY are: Tom Dougall (vocals / guitar), Dominic O'Dair (guitars), Maxim Barron (bass / vocals),Alejandra Diez (synths / modulations) & Charlie Salvidge (drums / vocals).

Bear Hands Reveal "Agora" Track + Video

Bear Hands - Agora

"Propulsive post-punk...full of dexterous vocals and glittering guitar work" - The New Yorker

"Bear Hands excel at crafting songs that chug manically under a cloud of reverb or coax wallflowers out onto the dancefloor with an infectious marriage of musical precision
and experimental messiness" - Pitchfork

Bear Hands have released the video for their brand-new track "Agora" off their highly anticipated sophomore album Distraction, out in the US and Canada on February 18, 2014 via Cantora Records. Featuring a bearded dragon, a Queen homage and a fittingly agoraphobic frontman, the clip was directed by Bear Hands guitarist Ted FeldmanThe track, which seamlessly weaves the minimal funk of its verse with the massive harmonies of the hook, was just premiered by global tastemaker Zane Lowe on his much respected BBC Radio 1 show.
Speaking on the varied influences for the clip, Feldman said "I tried to bite the right filmmakers in showing Dylan [Rauvocals and guitar] experiencing the drudgery of a solitary existence. I had wanted to include an iguana as tribute to Herzog's Bad Lieutenant, but during our search we found a sweet bearded dragon named Smaug who ended up in the video instead." A grand and ambitious psychedelic call to arms, "Agora" is now available for digital download HERE. The "Agora" video is also available for streaming and embed HERE, while the track is streaming on SoundCloud HERE
"Agora" comes on the heels of the recently released "Giants," the simultaneously whiplash-inducing and silkily-grooving lead single off Distraction. "Giants" is available now digitally in the US and Canada on iTunes and Amazon, and can be posted via their official lyric video HERE, as well as on SoundCloud HERE.
This winter, Bear Hands is joining forces with fellow Brooklynites Miniature Tigers for a co-headlining tour, with support from Total Slacker. The jaunt begins on February 27th at Rough Trade in Brooklyn and wraps up on March 20th at the Blind Pig in Ann Arbor. Additionally, the band will play South By Southwest, Coachella and Big Guava Music Fest in support of Distraction, with additional festival and tour dates to be announced soon. Full tour dates are below.

With Distraction, Bear Hands have shrugged off the notion of second album jitters to create an expansive sound that grew over three long years and thousands of miles on the road. Produced by guitarist Ted Feldman and mixed by James Brown (Nine Inch NailsArctic MonkeysFoo Fighters), Distraction is a violently self-assured record which sees the quartet of Dylan RauTJ OrscherVal Loper and Feldman distilling their anxieties and pleasures alike into perfectly twisted pop nuggets that demand your attention - calling out for love from behind a mask of ones and zeroes, cardboard and vinyl.
Bear Hands tour dates:
