LIARS (Angus Andrew, Aaron Hemphill and Julian Gross) NEW VIDEO for “Mess On A Mission”was co-produced by Urban Outfitters as part of their Video Series and directed by Luis Cervéro(of CANADA) Shot in the band’s hometown Los Angeles over the course of 12 hours, Luis’ captured the Liars’ movements from four different angles against a green screen filled as the band fights off everything from monsters to sacrificial tribal rituals. Tracking this unique partnership, Angus kept a video diary that documents why Luis’ video treatment “immediately stood out” explaining, “he was really fascinated by the idea, that nowadays, in filmmaking, you can no longer tell what’s real and what isn’t.”  We’ll let you decide for yourself what is “fact” and what is “fiction”—be sure to keep an eye out for Julian’s parents in the meantime!

Honeyblood Premiere New Track on Pitchfork

Fresh from supporting both Angel Olsen and Real Estate, as well as blazing a trail through most of America, including a show-stopping stint at SXSW, Glasgow two-piece Honeyblood are proud to announce their new single "Killer Bangs." Maybe the most urgent, punk-driven cut from their upcoming debut LP, it's two minutes thirty four seconds of frantic clatter and head-rush hooks that impacts with an instant, effortless sense of abandon.

Honeyblood's self-titled record has a new release date of July 15th and will be released via FatCat. Recorded at legendary producer Peter Katis' Tarquin Studios (The National, Interpol) in ten days last November, Honeybloodis an accomplished and delightfully fierce record.

The band will be hitting the road this spring with Courtney Barnett for a run of UK shows, stay tuned for North American summer dates coming soon.

Press Quotes /

"Rolling drums providing the backbone for toothache-inducing guitars and one hell of a central hook." Pitchfork
"Urgent, self-assured, windows-down rock n' roll."FADER
"Sparkling harmonies...A spare-but infectious pop sound." -USA Today
"Hazy, wistful sound." - ELLE
"Achieves special merit points, not just for its irresistibly perky two-minute popsmarts but for productively moving the post-White Stripes formula on in a way that many have tried and many more have failed to do." MOJO

TOY have quickly established a sound that is as modernistic as it is faithful to the spirit of psychedelia of decades past, marrying sophisticated chord progressions with a cornucopia of effects, enigmatic lyricism and driving Motorik rhythms.

Their sophomore record Join The Dots is out now via Heavenly Recordings.

The band admit to enjoying playing late at night to people in altered states, and in turn the tracks are frequently altered: instrumental sections in particular are structured freely, enabling the band to exploit the bleed and feedback of each venue to produce endless variations of the same songs.

As with their debut, Join The Dots was recorded mostly live with Dan Carey at the helm, although increased studio time has enabled the band to experiment more with Carey's laboratory of effects and pre-amps, and embellish the tracks with overdubs. The album is both a companion to and extension of the electric blueprint plotted out on Toy, filled as it is with increasingly unpredictable, illuminating sonic ideas and songs that shift and transform with seemingly effortless intricacy.

TOY are: Tom Dougall (vocals / guitar), Dominic O'Dair (guitars), Maxim Barron (bass / vocals), Alejandra Diez (synths / modulations) & Charlie Salvidge (drums / vocals).

"Join The Dots" Track Listing:
1. Conductor

5. To A Death Unknown
6. Endlessly
7. It's Been So Long

Bo Ningen Premiere "DaDaDa" Video On Brooklyn Vegan

Bo Ningen Premiere DaDaDa video via Brooklyn Vegan

III due May 20th via Stolen Recordings

US/UK Tour Dates Scheduled Including Coachella, Austin Psych Fest

Artist: Bo Ningen
Title: "III"
Release Date: May 20th (US) /  May 13th (UK/ROW)
Cat. No. : SR077 CD / double LP / download
Label: Stolen Recordings

Bo Ningen today reveal the eye-catching video for DaDaDa, directed by friend and fellow musician KenichiIwasa.

Says Iwasa of the clip, "The idea behind this video was to create very visual and eye striking imagery that talks to your subconscious mind. To capture the energy the band generate when they perform was very challenging.

Bo Ningen are my good friends and I have played with them many times as a musician. That experience and watching their live performance so many times has given me a deep understanding of what they are.

They are individually interesting and very different, I ask them to express with their body how they would transfer their sound into body movement without instruments. When these individuals come together, their collective energy is enormous and their commitment to the band is very strong, I wanted to create one very strong Symbolic image almost like a statue.

I was focusing on capturing the silhouette of their movement and shadows. My aim was to create traditional dance like Butou dance or Noh theatre like but with the essence of modern pop video."

Bo Ningen's third album "III" will be released by Stolen Recordings on May 20th, 2014 (May 13th in UK/ROW). It is a rich and accomplished album that has seen them evolve musically. Collaborations withJehnny Beth of Savages and Roger Robinson of King Midas Sound feature and they've sung partly in English for the first time. The album was recorded over several months with the band spending more time on the production and development of the songs. "III" illustrates Bo Ningen as a group with a singular vision, reaching for what they define as 'pure music', by turns esoteric and a no holds barred sensory assault.

UK and US tour dates have now been confirmed – full details below.  Having recently played SXSW, BoNingen tour the US in April, the UK in May and play Coachella festival and Austin Psych Fest amongst many others this year. They will also be performing an in-store at Rough Trade NY on April 27th.

Xu Xu Fang Debuts New Track + Video feat. True Blood's Luke Grimes

Xu Xu Fang Debuts New Track + Video For “Noir State Beach”

Video Starring True Blood’s Luke Grimes, Directed by Spike Jonze Collaborator Casey Storm

Download HERE, Watch + Share Video HERE

“Enormous, dark, psychedelic, and beautiful, Xu Xu Fang is full of meditative moods that haunt the diaphanous triangle formed by Pink Floyd, Radiohead, and Sigur Ros.” – The Onion

“Fuck me sideways if this isn’t some of the best new music I’ve heard.” Simon Raymonde (Cocteau Twins)

This week Mar Vista, California’s Xu Xu Fang released their new single “Noir State Beach” (via Consequence of Sound) and a new video for the track as well. Watch actorLuke Grimes (True Blood, Fifty Shades of Grey) get stalked along the streets of LA courtesy of Rolling Stone.

Xu Xu Fang are a dark-and-brooding, slow-and-rolling musical experience like something you’d hear at a Laserium show or listen to on big headphones in the back of a conversion van. A quintet comprised of drummer/songwriter/producer Bobby Tamkin (previously in The Warlocks), guitarist Devin Johnson, keyboardist Lisa Fendelander, bassist Kyle Hines, lead vocalist Sinosa Micik and recently added Derek Muro on synthesizers, Xu Xu Fang has previously shared the stage with WarpaintA Place To Bury StrangersDuke Spirit and more.

The “Noir State Beach” video was directed by long-time Spike Jonze collaborator Casey Storm, who as costume designer, marked his fourth feature film collaboration with Jonze on the Academy Award winning film "Her." Storm has previously designed costumes for Jonze's acclaimed films "Where The Wild Things Are," "Being John Malkovich" and "Adaptation." He has worked on a wide range of music videos for artists including Michael Jackson, Metallica, Beck, The Beastie Boys, The Cure, Bjork, and Yeah Yeah Yeahs to list just a few.

Enter Queens of the Stone Age bass player Michael Shuman. Upon hearing Xu Xu Fang’s new album in progress, Shuman joined the band in the studio, recording bass and vocals on several of the band’s new songs, even singing duet lead vocals on many of the tracks.

Excited with what he heard, producer/mixer, Alain Johannes, known for his work with QOTSA, and Arctic Monkeys, took an interest in Xu Xu Fang, and contributed mixes to the upcoming full-length record, to be released later this year. Be on the look out for the new album and Xu Xu Fang’s upcoming shows, including one next week at LA’s SIR on April 3rd.

Upcoming Show
4/3 – Los Angeles, CA – SIR (Private)
