Foxygen Touring With La Sera and Moonface

Foxygen Touring With La Sera and Moonface
Download MP3 For "Waitin' 4 U"

Foxygen, the bi-coastal songwriting duo of Sam France (vocals, Olympia,Wash., 22 years old) and Jonathan Rado (guitar/keyboards, NYC, 22), is now offerinig one of their best songs from the forthcoming Jagjaguwar release Take The Kids Off Broadway. "Waitin' 4 U" wildly, cleverly swings from a winking nod to Prince and Mott the Hoople bedroom glam to a grungy Disco rave up.
"Waitin' 4 U" has nestled itself into the Pitchfork.com Tracks section - our heroes described as "mining at vintage glam and pop sounds from what charmingly sounds like the inside of a cardboard box."

Take the Kids Off Broadway will be available on July 24th on vinyl and digital formats. Foxygen will be touring late this summer with La Sera and Magic Trick and early this fall with Jagjaguwar label-mate Moonface. Tour dates are below!

Black Lips tour the middle east

BLACK LIPS ANNOUNCE WORLD TOUR WILL EXTEND TO THE MIDDLE EAST

FLOWER PUNK PROGENITORS HEADING ON TWO WEEK TOUR OF EGYPT, IRAQ, JORDAN, AND MORE

The gloriously notorious flower punk quartet Black Lips, in an ongoing attempt to leave no stone unturned in their effort to spread their music globally, are treading a path few Western bands have traveled with a run of dates planned for the Middle East this Fall. "We want to play everywhere on the planet, and the opportunity came up. We couldn't say no," states band bassist and vocalist Jared Swilley. "Anywhere that we haven't been excites us. Not many western bands have toured the region and to be one of the first is amazing. Adventures are the best." With tours in Australia, Thailand, Portugal, India, and huge festival appearances at the likes of Coachella, Primavera, Bonnaroo under their belts, the band are looking to expand their horizons and spread their message of peace, fun, and rock and roll as far as it will go. "People like music and having fun and I think that's pretty universal," adds Swilley.

The dates are in continued support of the semi-appropriately titled Arabia Mountain (it is actually named for a mountain just outside their native Atlanta), the 2011 Mark Ronson-produced masterwork which landed them on the cover of SPIN, and earned high praises from Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, among several other distinctions.

THE RAVEONETTES PREMIERE NEW SONG "OBSERVATIONS"

THE RAVEONETTES PREMIERE NEW SONG "OBSERVATIONS"
ON ROLLING STONE

NEW ALBUM OBSERVATOR OUT SEPTEMBER 11TH ON VICE

To get fans excited, The Raveonettes' premiered their new song "Observations" on Rolling Stone.com yesterday. This first track comes from the duo's upcoming album "Observator" out September 11th on Vice Records.

Approved embed link for "Observations"
http://www.vicerecords.com/vicerecords/download/the_raveonettes-observations.mp3

Songwriter Sune Rose Wagner says, "Observations is sort of the blue print for this album. It captures a universal feeling of the outsider in his daily life, his longing and losses in love and his primordial instinct of survival."

"Sharin [Foo] and I went into the legendary Sunset Sound Studios for a week - where The Doors recorded a lot of their classic albums. It was there that a new dimension to the Raveonettes began to develop. The song Observations is very important in that respect; it's the first time we've ever used the piano and what a glorious, gloomy sound it makes. We knew immediately that it was something we needed to expand on. But make no mistake; Observator is still a gorgeous guitar album."

In support of their new album The Raveonettes will hit the road in September, playing dates in Chicago, New York and Los Angeles before wrapping up in San Francisco this October. Tour dates below.

Beachwood Sparks The Tarnished Gold out today on Sub Pop!

Beachwood Sparks The Tarnished Gold out today on Sub Pop!

Watch Yours Truly video interview & Huichica Festival performance footage!

Plus - Updated tour dates

Beachwood Sparks first album in 11 years, The Tarnished Gold, is out today via Sub Pop. The album, led by singles "Forget The Song", "Sparks Fly Again" and "Talk About Lonesome", is available now on CD, LP and digitally.

Beachwood Sparks will celebrate the release of The Tarnished Gold with an album listening party and DJ sets from band members Farmer Dave Scher and Brent Rademaker, tonight, June 26th in Silver Lake at the Satellite.  Additionally, the band has a few California dates on the horizon: July 18th in Santa Cruz at Catalyst Club Atrium; July 19th in San Francisco at The Independent; July 19th in Pioneertown at Pappy & Harriet’s Pioneertown; and August 3rd in Los Angeles at The Echo for New LA Folk Fest kick-off party.  Full list of tour dates below.

Earlier this month, Beachwood Sparks teamed up with Yours Truly to film an interview and their Huichica Festival performance, along with a video for album track, "Forget The Song" (which will premiere in July). You can now watch the interview and performance footage, now via Sub Pop 's YouTube channel.

About Beachwood Sparks:  “The Tarnished Goldis the work of the classic Beachwood Sparks lineup: singer/guitarist Chris Gunst, singer/bassist Brent Rademaker, singer/multi-instrumentalist Farmer Dave Scher, and drummer Aaron Sperske, with invaluable support from guitarist and longtime friend Ben Knight (The Tyde). For the sessions, the band expanded to seven pieces, with guitarists Knight and Neal Casal (solo artist and former member of Ryan Adams and the Cardinals), with Dan Horne on pedal steel in place of Scher, who opted to play organ, key, flying V guitar and electrified melodica. Also lending a hand were Gunst’s wife Jen Cohen, Sparks’ very first drummer Jimi Hey, Brent’s brother Darren (leader of The Tyde) and L.A. indie-rock maestro Ariel Pink. Once We Were Trees producer Thom Monahan returned to his familiar spot behind the console(read more at Sub Pop).

What people are saying about The Tarnished Gold:
"Summer has just started, but Beachwood Sparks' first new album in 11 years takes the season to a languid peak. On only their third full-length, Sparks singer-guitarist Chris Gunst, singer-bassist Brent Rademaker, multi-instrumentalist Farmer Dave Scher, and drummer Aaron Sperske augment their lightly psychedelic, deeply entrancing shimmer with help from the likes of Ariel Pink and ex-Ryan Adams guitarist Neal Casal." [25 Summer Albums You Gotta Hear] - SPIN

“The Tarnished Gold shimmers with rare but seemingly effortless prettiness.” - NPR

“A sun-kissed collection of honest tunes that’s surprisingly relevant — but well lived in.” – ALARM

The Tarnished Gold is of a piece with their first two albums, but never a pale imitation.” [4/5 stars] – The Guardian

“It's a lovely, warm-hearted gem.” [4/5 stars] - The Independent

“Cosmically in tune and harmony-rich, they excel in presenting their colorful, kaleidoscopic view of the world.” [3.5/4 stars] – Boston Phoenix

The Tarnished Gold sees them return sounding fresh and revitalised, delivering an album that more than matches their earlier output.” – MusicOMH

"The natural flag-bearers for the 'cosmic American' music defined by Gram Parsons." - The Sunday Times
"Sounds like a prescription for uncertain times, the evergreen sigh of pedal steel soft against the prang of semi-acoustic, both wistful and resolved." - The Observer
"A beautiful summer breeze of a record." [4.5/5 stars] - The Sun
"One of the finest US bands of their time return to claim their crown. A little treasure." [4/5 stars] - The Daily Mirror
"A lovely record" - The Onion AV Club
