Glen Hansard on CBS Saturday Morning + New Tour Dates With Pearl Jam

GLEN HANSARD ON CBS SATURDAY MORNING

WATCH INTERVIEW WITH JEFF GLOR AND PERFORMANCES OF “BEARING WITNESS”, “AIN’T NO MOUNTAIN” AND “FEAST OF ST. JOHN”

FROM THE NEW ALBUM ALL THAT WAS EAST IS WEST OF ME NOW

NEW US TOUR WITH PEARL JAM ANNOUNCED ALONG WITH HEADLINE DATES IN AUGUST + SEPTEMBER

“I think it is one of his strongest solo records ... I think things cohere on this in a really amazing way.” - Ann Powers, NPR Music

“Fifth – and best – solo album from the Frames frontman… a sprawling affair revisiting just about every road he’s previously travelled, but somehow tying them all together for the first time.” - Mojo

This past weekend Glen Hansard spoke with CBS’s Jeff Glor in a wide-ranging interview that covered his new record, his journey from busker to the Oscars, being musical director at Shane MacGowan’s funeral and becoming a new dad. Hansard also performed three songs from his latest album ‘All That Was East Is West Of Me Now’ for CBS This Morning: Saturday’s St. Patrick’s Day episode. Watch the performances below.

“THERE'S NO MOUNTAIN”
“THE FEAST OF ST. JOHN”
“BEARING WITNESS”

‘All That Was East Is West Of Me Now’ came together after a secret residency in November 2022 at Hansard’s local pub just outside Dublin and was recorded with producer and former Frames member, David Odlum (Sam Smith, Tinariwen). The album’s title, Hansard says, stems from the “sudden realization that there’s more behind than ahead,” yet carries a thread of hopefulness over its eight tracks focusing on the promise of the future than just thoughts of regret or nostalgia.

This August and September Hansard will embark on a cross-country tour featuring headlining sets and opening dates for longtime friend Eddie Vedder and his band Pearl Jam. Hansard and his band will be joining them for ten shows, including at the iconic stadiums Wrigley Field and Fenway Park as well as Madison Square Garden. Dates in bold go on sale on Friday March 22nd at 10a local time. All upcoming dates are listed below.

The Gaslight Anthem has announced HISTORY BOOKS – SHORT STORIES, a new EP arriving Friday, March 22 on their own Rich Mahogany Recordings label via Thirty Tigers.

HISTORY BOOKS – SHORT STORIES collects four exclusive tracks including the band’s anthemic take on Billie Eilish’s 3x RIAA Platinum-certified breakthrough single, “Ocean Eyes,” as well as brand new rendition of the longtime fan favorite, “Blue Jeans & White T-Shirts,” and stripped-down acoustic performances of “Positive Charge” and “History Books,” the original versions of which can be found on The Gaslight Anthem’s acclaimed 2023 return to action, HISTORY BOOKS.

“I was driving my daughter to school and she played it for me on the way and I really took to the song,” says The Gaslight Anthem’s Brian Fallon. “Then one day we were talking ideas for a cover with our friends and I said, wouldn’t it be cool to do a heavier version of ‘Ocean Eyes’? I tried it out and everybody loved the idea.”

The Gaslight Anthem will celebrate HISTORY BOOKS – SHORT STORIES and much more with an eagerly awaited North American summer headline tour. The “HISTORY BOOKS TOUR” gets underway July 26 at Denver, CO’s Mission Ballroom and then continues through a September 1 finale at Detroit, MI’s The Fillmore Detroit. Support throughout comes from Joyce Manor with The Dirty Nil (July 26-August 11) and Pinkshift (August 13-September 1) joining on select dates. Pre-sales begin Wednesday, March 20 at 10:00 am (local). General on-sales begin Friday, March 22 at 10:00 am (local). For full details, please see www.thegaslightanthem.com.

In the meantime, The Gaslight Anthem is currently traveling on an epic EU/UK tour, including sold-out headline shows and wide range of top-billed festival appearances into July. In addition, the band will return to their home state of New Jersey to join Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Trey Anastasio Band, Norah Jones, and more at Asbury Park’s sold-out Sea.Hear.Now Festival on Sunday, September 15.

The Gaslight Anthem’s sixth full-length and first new album in nearly a decade, HISTORY BOOKS includes such singles as  the heavy-hearted title track, “History Books,” which sees Fallon trading duet vocals with longtime band champion and fellow New Jerseyan Bruce Springsteen, as well as “Spider Bites,” “Autumn,” “Little Fires” (featuring guest vocals from PUP frontman Stefan Babcock), “Positive Charge.” All five tracks are joined by official music videos streaming now on YouTube.

The Gaslight Anthem is: Brian Fallon (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Alex Rosamilia (lead guitar, backing vocals), Alex Levine (bass guitar, backing vocals), and Benny Horowitz (drums, percussion, backing vocals).

George A. Romero’s

'DAWN OF THE DEAD'

Updates Theater Listings for 45th Anniversary

Coming to theaters, drive-ins, and malls across North America in April-May, including at the Monroeville Mall!

"When there's no more room in hell, the dead will walk the earth."

GET TICKETS HERE
WATCH TRAILER HERE

New Amsterdam Entertainment Inc.® is proud to announce George A. Romero’s 'Dawn of the Dead' will be celebrating the 45th Anniversary of its North American debut with a blow-out celebration event! The definitive zombie classic returns to both Theatres and Drive-Ins for screenings across the U.S. and Canada from April-May, 2024, with very special official anniversary collectables coming from FRIGHT-RAGS and ISH! The previously announced big-screen return has updated and revised the listings, which can be found at THIS LOCATION.

The North American gala premiere of 'Dawn of the Dead' took place on April 12, 1979 at the Gateway Theatre in downtown Pittsburgh. The film began the official U.S. theatrical launch the following day, eventually rolling out across the country. To honor this special milestone, New Amsterdam Entertainment Inc.® is making the movie available again in theatres & drive-ins for coast-to-coast screenings starting April 12, 2024 and running through to the end of May! The 2-D trailer can be found HERE.

Hitting over 90 screens across North America, Independent Theatres and Drive-Ins have joined the celebration. While some will only host one exclusive screening event, others will have multiple showings throughout April and May.

With special assistance from United Drive-In Theatre Owners Association, for the first time in decades, many fans will be able to watch 'Dawn of the Dead' under the stars at several ozoners like the classic Midway Drive-In in Sterling, IL, and at a special Exhumed Films event at the world famous Mahoning Drive-In in Lehighton, PA!

The mighty Alamo Drafthouse will be fulfilling thousands of audience requests by unleashing it into 34 of their cinemas across the country and die-hard fans will finally be able to again watch the movie in its premiere city of Pittsburgh, this time at the Row House Theatre!  The film will be screened all across North America in historical venues including places like the Colonial Theater in Phoenixville, PA, where the original version of 'The Blob' was filmed in 1958!

Meanwhile, The Music Box Theatre in Chicago will present special single showings of both the 2-D and 3-D editions later in May! Stereoscopic fans will also be able to catch it in 3-D at the Galleria Mall in St. Louis, MO, where hopefully they won't have to hunker down to survive a zombie apocalypse! St. Louis is not the only city that is taking the film back to its primary setting; through special arrangement, Cinemark Theatres will be exclusively presenting 'Dawn of the Dead' for One-Night-Only on Friday April 12th...at the MONROEVILLE MALL!

There’s no more room in Hell and the Dead are finally returning...to Canada!

It’s going to be a zombie-rollicking good time across the States, and Canada need not worry!

For horror fans up North, decades worth of scary prayers are about to be answered with big screen showings of the original theatrical edition, Romero's official final Director's Cut, at Independent Canadian Movie Houses and Festivals in 2-D as it first played in 1979. Plus, over 15 years after producer Richard P. Rubinstein first announced it was happening, on April 12th, the genuinely excellent 3-D conversion of George A. Romero’s 'Dawn of the Dead' will finally make its Canadian premier at the Cinéma Du Parc Theatre in Montreal

That's not all as no party is complete without party favors! For this celebration, New Amsterdam Entertainment Inc.® is joining forces with the highly respected fan favorites FRIGHT-RAGS and Justin Ishmael / ISH to create special edition 45th Anniversary 'Dawn of the Dead' collectables! On March 12th, ISH will be releasing the absolutely beautiful, official 45th Anniversary artwork they commissioned from the amazingly talented artist Paul Mann in a limited edition hand screen-printed poster on their website at: www.justinishmael.com

Also on March 12th, FRIGHT-RAGS will be offering an official 45th Anniversary Trading Card Set along with two 45th Anniversary T-Shirts, with the first featuring Paul Mann’s superb artwork (commissioned by ISH) and the second being a beautiful reproduction of the original vintage Dawn of the Dead Cast & Crew production shirt! Fans will be able to find the cards and shirts on FRIGHT-RAGS’ site here: www.fright-rags.com

DAWN OF THE DEAD in Theatres, at Drive-Ins, on Posters, Trading Cards & T-Shirts?!

Romero's zombies are rising again for a great 45th Anniversary Party to remember!
