Lovely Creatures
The Best of Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds 1984 – 2014
Out 5th May 2017

“There are some people out there who just don’t know where to start with The Bad Seeds. Others know the catalogue better than I do! This release is designed to be a way into three decades of music making. That’s a lot of songs. The songs we have chosen are the ones that have stuck around, for whatever reason. Some songs are those that demand to be played live. Others are lesser songs that are personal favourites of ours. Others are just too big and have too much history to leave out. And there are those that didn’t make it, poor things. They are the ones you must discover by yourselves.” Nick Cave
Lovely Creatures is the most comprehensive overview of the recorded work of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds to date. Spanning thirty years of music from their debut album From Her To Eternity through to Push The Sky Away their 15th studio album, the collection navigates one of the most exhilarating, idiosyncratic and inventive bodies of work created in contemporary music.
Included are long-standing live favourites “Stagger Lee” and “The Mercy Seat”, their hit single from 1995 “Where The Wild Roses Grow” through to recent fan favourites “Jubilee Street” and “We No Who U R. There are songs that newcomers may only know from their appearance on film and television soundtracks, notably “O Children” (Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows Pt. I)  and the ubiquitous “Red Right Hand”, most recently familiar to fans of the series Peaky Blinders.
The album was compiled by Nick Cave and founding member Mick Harvey, with help from the current Bad Seeds. Band members past and present raided their personal archives to provide previously unseen photos and memorabilia which have been collected into a beautiful hardcover book, along with a series of original essays. The book is available as part of the limited edition ‘Super Deluxe’ album collection that also comes with a two hour DVD containing rare and unseen archive footage. Lovely Creatures is available in four formats, all featuring personal and rare photographs of the band:  Standard CD, Triple LP, Deluxe 3CD with DVD and the Super Deluxe Limited Edition package.
Lovely Creatures was originally intended for release in 2014. Since its postponement the band have recorded and released their highly acclaimed 16th studio album Skeleton Tree.

Trementina Share "Oh Child" Video On The 405 II Debut LP '810' Out Now On Burger Records

Trementina Share "Oh Child" Video On The 405

Debut LP '810' Out March 24th On Burger Records
WATCH & SHARE: Trementina - "Oh Child"
LISTEN & SHARE: Trementina - "Please, Let's Go Away"
"Lead singer Vanessa Cea has the capability of conjuring stirring imagery around the fantastic, dreamy guitar parts of Cristobal Ortiz. Meanwhile, bassist Lucas Martinic and drummer Andrés firm a thunderous rhythm section, carrying the emotional weight of the track on their shoulders."
- The 405

"Chilean band Trementina sound like they could’ve been from London 1990 signed to 4AD; shimmering dreampop that’s not afraid of a little noise or a big hook."
- Brooklyn Vegan
Today The 405 shares the video for "Oh Child", the second single from Chilean shoegaze band Trementina.  The single originally appeared on CLRVYNT where lead singer Vanessa Cea also did an exclusive "Late Night Dedication" interview with the site. Prior to "Oh Child" the band shared "Please, Let's Go Away".  Both tracks are featured on the band's new album '810' out now on Burger Records.
Trementina create music for lucid dreaming. It’s an intense, yet melancholic conjuring by art students and skaters from the damp forests of Valdivia, Chile, where the rainfall creates faded polaroids out of daily life.

Valdivian shoegaze emerges from the fissures of their homeland. Isolated from urban static, Trementina has created a dizzying symphony that drowns you with noise, hallucinatory guitars, and beauty among chaos — which can be felt in the ethereal vocals of Vanessa Cea.

Their third album, 810, is the evolutionary star-child of their sound, which first made contact with the U.S. in 2013, and then again in 2015 when their song “Hazy Youth” appeared on the now famous Ear to Ear Records’ shoegaze comp.

Recorded roughly 810 kilometers south of Santiago, during the cold winter, when the “sky is charcoal gray,” to borrow a line from DIY pioneer Martin Newell, 810 upgrades their sound from My Bloody Valentine-tinged haze on 2013’s Brilliant Noise [Vinyl Junkies], into a meditative experience that’s surreal, a “dream within a dream” — the byproduct of Cristobal Ortiz’s modulated guitar and the thick bass of Lucas Martinic.

810  includes nine tracks that flood the musical landscape; ranging from songs like “Oh Child,” which capture the atmospheric pressure of Joshua Tree-era U2, or early CHVRCHES, to “Please, Let’s Go Away,” which sounds like it was recorded inside a cosmic cathedral, as opposed to a DIY studio from the Chilean countryside. It’s a track the band recorded after the sudden departure of their drummer, which inspired them to augment their sound with influences as broad as Brian Eno and Robin Guthrie. 810 includes several tracks that show the quartet reaching beyond the shoegaze galaxy, even back in time, like the opium-den tripping of “Out of the Lights” and the African textures on “A Place Up in the Sky.”

The overall effect is a youthful pilgrimage across the south of Chile, during a waking dream.
810  will be released on Burger Records on March 24, 2017. Trementina is a DIY rock band based in Valdivia, Chile, and consists of Vanessa Cea (vocals), Cristobal Ortiz (guitar), Lucas Martinic (bass), and Andrés on drums.
