"It was previously about celebration, fun, and having a party. Now I think it's more about meeting up with friends, fans, and family, and enjoying time together... Counting our blessings while remembering those who are still going through anguish."

He goes on to explain, "Manchester is a very special place for The Charlatans and we will be spending this weekend with our brothers and sisters there."

“It’s...time to finally give the Pickups their influential due.”
—Los Angeles Times

“Better Nature is a clearly realized vision of rocking guitar, deep musical landscapes and fluid style.”
—The Daily Beast
This morning, Silversun Pickups shared “Latchkey Kids (Joywave Remix)”, a swirling and frenetic iteration of the third single off 2015’s Better Nature, remixed by Rochester, NY band, Joywave. Listen to “Latchkey Kids” (Joywave Remix) here: http://bit.ly/2qqYs3g

Silversun Pickups will embark on a 30-date amphitheater tour opening for Third Eye Blind. The “Summer Gods” Tour celebrates Third Eye Blind’s 20th anniversary, and kicks off on Friday, June 9 in Miami, FL with stops including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto, and New Orleans. Dates below and tickets are now on sale here.

Their fourth studio album, Better Nature, which Entertainment Weekly called “…worth the wait,” was released on September 25th, 2015 via the band’s own New Machine Recordings. Produced by Jacknife Lee (U2, Two Door Cinema Club, Crystal Castles) and mixed by GRAMMY winner Alan Moulder (My Bloody Valentine, Nine Inch Nails, Royal Blood), Better Nature is a revelatory manifestation of a band entirely in touch with the muse and each other. Hailed for their inimitable merging of ethereal melodies and pure sonic force, Silversun Pickups are among the most dynamic and creative rock bands of the modern era. From the indie rock opening salvo of 2005's Pikul EP to 2012's far-reaching Neck of the Woods, each successive release has seen the Silver Lake-based band boldly venture into uncharted terrain, bravely pushing their imagination and ability toward new and surprising summits. Their 2009 album Swoon featured the Billboard Hot 100 hit "Panic Switch" and earned the group a nomination for Best New Artist at the GRAMMYs that year. Better Nature marks the debut release from Silversun Pickups' own New Machine Recordings. The label — which takes its name from the Pikul favorite, "…All The Go Inbetweens" — allows the ever-autonomous band to fully determine its own course without any interference.

Silversun Pickups’s video for “Latchkey Kids” was directed by Maryam L'Ange, and explores the realities and challenges of adolescence through the eyes of a teenager, played by Julian Rapaport, and you can watch it here: http://bit.ly/2gEMBwR Silversun Pickups also performed at Chicago’s Grant Park for 2016’s Lollapalooza Festival, and you can watch their stirring performance of "Panic Switch," off 2009’sSwoon, which garnered the band a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist, here: http://bit.ly/2gTeAqd

Sam Amidon's The Following Mountain Out Today

"The folk singer enlists an elite, dynamic group of players for an album deconstructed from a master jam session, naturally creating his most jazz-forward release to date.” -Pitchfork
New York, NY — May 26, 2017 — The Following Mountain, the newest solo albumby experimental folk artist, singer, and multi-instrumentalist Sam Amidon, is out today on Nonesuch Records.
Created with producer Leo Abrahams (Brian Eno, Regina Spektor) and Amidon’s frequent collaborator Shahzad Ismaily, The Following Mountain represents a new approach for Amidon, who shifts here from his previous norm of re-working traditional folk songs and presents nine wholly original compositions, with some lyrics drawing on traditional sources. The album features a rare guest appearance by drummer Milford Graves, known initially for his work in the 1960s with free jazz legends Albert Ayler and Sonny Sharrock, as well as guest appearances by percussionist Juma Sultan (Jimi Hendrix) and saxophonist Sam Gendel.
A full album stream can be found in this promo link, and a video for the album track “Blackbird” is HERE.
“The Following Mountain is a walk through the thickets of the imagination,” Amidon said, “... a personal mythology of sounds and visions and characters. It is my first album of original music, but is still linked to the Appalachian music I love, as well as improvisation, beats, Don Cherry, Vermont, London."
The Following Mountain is Amidon’s sixth album and follows Lily-O, his 2014 Nonesuch Records collaboration with guitarist Bill Frisell.

Catch Rogers At Firefly Festival, Lollapalooza And Outside Lands This Summer

Debut EP Now That The Light Is Fading Out Now On Capitol Records

Listen to Maggie Rogers "Alaska" (SOHN Remix) released today HERE. Rogers breakout single "Alaska" charted in Spotify's Viral 50 in 40 countries and hit #1 in 23 countries, including the U.S. With more than 80 million global streams to date, it earned Rogers a place on the Spotify Best of 2016 list and set the stage for widespread international acclaim.  "Alaska" is featured on Rogers debut EP Now That The Light Is Fading, out now on Capitol Records.  The EP includes four original songs written, produced and performed by the 22-year-old multi-instrumentalist, and also features the tracks "Dog Years," and "On + Off".   Now That The Light Is Fading is available at all digital providers and now on limited edition vinyl.  Rogers will perform sold out headline shows in Los Angeles at The Teragram Ballroom (August 10th) and The Fonda Theatre (August 11th ) followed by two nights headlining NYC's Brooklyn Steel (August 16th + 17th).  Fresh off her sold out North American spring headline tour, Rogers is also set to play U.S. festivals this summer including June's Firefly Festival and both Lollapalooza and Outside Lands in August.  Please visitmaggierogers.com for all dates.
"(Maggie Rogers') voice is mesmerizing... musicality so layered and complex. Will keep watch for this one.  'Alaska' will go down in history...it has a glacial purity that's rare in a pop music paradigm that tries so hard to craft the viral enthusiasm Maggie Rogers generated by being herself."
"'Alaska' is one of those songs where the beat is so palpable, the rhythm so ingrained in every fiber of the music... the flow is maintained through a stunning waterfall of Rogers' folksy falsetto harmonizing with itself. Rogers' voice is practically bursting at the seams with originality, and her new track 'On + Off,' solidifies her status as a veritable break out star."
"Maggie Rogers is an artist of her time."
"Like her heroes - Carrie Brownstein, Patti Smith, Kim Gordon, Bjork -
Rogers is writing (and producing and performing) her own story."
